You can now embark on a whirlwind adventure and experience the thrill of 2 very different modes of transport! First you can take to the skies and marvel at the landscape below you while the pilot points out all the areas of interest below. You will even see the Steam Train operating and chugging along the old Stradbally Railway which you will enjoy a leisurely ride after the exhilarating helicopter experience!
The Stradbally Woodland Railway was the first volunteer-run heritage railway in Ireland. Situated in the woods of the Stradbally Hall estate, the railway stemmed from an earlier idea which saw an original Guinness Brewery steam locomotive steamed while mounted on blocks for the August 1967 National Steam Rally. A short section of 1ft 10½in track was laid for the 1968 event and the engine pulled several passenger carriages.
After the Steam Train ride you can down sit down and relax with a cup of tea/coffee and a snack from the cafe van!
